Dillon Danis is now looking to sign with the UFC. The jiu-jitsu specialist was signed to Bellator MMA but is now a free agent. Ariel Helwani first shared the news of his release on Twitter/X. Danis competed in Bellator for his only 2 professional MMA bouts where he secured submission wins in both matchups. However, injuries sidelined him from active competition in 2019.

Danis then got involved in the influencer boxing scene. He was initially set to face KSI at a Misfits boxing event in January but Danis pulled out from the fight. Danis then agreed to fight Logan Paul at the KSI vs. Tommy Fury card. He lost the fight via disqualification in a bout that wasn’t as interesting as the build-up to the event. But now Danis has stated he is looking to return to his MMA roots with the UFC. And online reactions to his comments indicate that the fans may not be on board with his plans!

The fight between Logan Paul and Dillon Danis saw both men engage in a heated feud. Danis was making his boxing debut in the matchup. During the build-up to the event, his trademark online trolling even led to reports of a lawsuit being served to Danis. Logan Paul also showed up to a pre-fight event with Gordon Ryan, the BJJ expert, to act as his “bodyguard” against Danis.

Danis lost the fight due to disqualification as he attempted to choke Paul in the final round of the fight. The fight was a strange affair that saw Danis throw almost no punches at Paul. But now Danis has stated that he is looking to sign with the UFC. In an episode of the podcast, “One Night with Steiny”, Danis claimed that he has a meeting lined up with UFC CEO, Dana White. He stated, “We’re supposed to have a meeting this week.”

Further along in the conversation, Danis also stated that “I’m a jiu-jitsu fighter, so obviously I wanna do what I do”. But his comments have drawn a storm of reactions from the fans.

Here’s how the community reacted:

Fans were surprised at the statements by Danis and his claims about meeting Dana White

Losing Ngannou and now hire this sh*t. Someone fire Dana please

Others pointed out that Danis has a tendency to make things up.

He also said he wants Jon Jones as a tune-up fight on this same podcast. Don’t listen to anything that comes out of Dillion’s mouth, honestly.

His comments were also made fun of by fans.

“I’m a jiu-jitsu fighter”

Many fans were confused as to why people are still taking Danis’s words as fact.

Why does anyone believe anything he says

He’s gonna end up getting tin cans fed to him and then fast-tracked for a title so Dana can make more money

Let’s be honest put him against a low-level trash talk and let the media craze begin

And some fans even took shots at Danis’s MMA skills.

Bro could not even take down Logan Paul wtf?

The fans appear to be highly skeptical of Dillon Danis potentially signing with the UFC. Many express doubts about his fighting abilities and credibility, with some suggesting he might face less challenging opponents for promotional purposes. Danis’ claim of wanting Jon Jones as a tune-up fight has also raised eyebrows, casting doubt on the veracity of his statements.

Despite the reactions from the fans, Logan Paul vs. Dillon Danis had a lot of eyes on it. And Danis has now claimed that the feud between him and Paul was just a promotional tactic!

Danis claims he and Logan Paul weren’t actually feuding

Dillon Danis admits his many social media jabs at Logan Paul’s fiancée, Nina Agdal, were all in jest. He claims he was just acting as the “bad guy” to drum up attention for the recent boxing match. In court papers revealed by TMZ Sports, he explains that his relentless teasing of the WWE Superstar and his partner was nothing more than “parody, satire, comedy, farce, or opinions”. And it was a tactic he used to attract eyeballs to the October 14 event.

He even goes so far as to say that he and Logan never really had a genuine “feud” since Logan emerged victorious in the Misfits boxing match through disqualification. In his defense, Danis insists that his comments about Agdal fall under the First Amendment’s protection. According to him, they were just his personal opinions.

It remains to be seen if Dillon Danis will be offered a chance to compete in the UFC. And if he will be more successful in the Octagon than he has been in the boxing ring.
