According to Cormier, Jon Jones will have to be nearly perfect in his pursuit if he wants to get past the challenge of Miocic. On the other hand, the former champion has much less pressure and can perform to his full potential. While speaking to Sonnen, ‘DC’ pointed out how Miocic has nothing to lose in the fight and said, “playing with house money,”. With $7 million in potential earnings on the line, the UFC’s resident firefighter has much more freedom to fight with less concern about the stakes. However, Jones does not have that liberty as he will have the pressure of ending his career unblemished.
