Even at the height of their achievement, people should firmly hang onto their roots. A good example of this is the popular Brazilian MMA fighter, Alex Pereira. No significant triumphs can remove the man from his rich indigenous culture. The new middleweight champion has grown closer to his Brazilian clan as a result of his achievement. He defeated Israel Adesanya to win the middleweight championship. Pereira stopped Adesanya in round five as he made sure that he finished his opponent by TKO.

His nickname, ‘Poatan’, is a good explanation of the same. Belocqua Wera, Periera’s first kickboxing instructor, suggested the name. In the local vernacular, ‘Poatan’ means ‘stone hands.’ He is actually a person who carries all the characteristics of his ancestry with him.
The ‘Reservapataxoportodoboi’ is the Instagram page of the tribal community. They took to social media to share the immense joy they felt with Periera’s visit. A photo was posted where Poatan was seen in the tribal costume, like a true tribe from his community, holding the belt with pride.
