No matter how hard the MMA community tries to deny it, there is definitely some shared common ground between street fighting and combat sports. Many big names, including Kimbo Slice, Jorge Masvidal, and Eddie Alvarez, made a name for themselves on the streets, before turning professional. In fact, the rivalry between Dada 5000 and Kimbo Slice from the days of street fighting went so popular that they fought professionally.
Unlike the streets, in professional sports, there are PED regulations, fair payment, and most importantly, you are pitted only against someone close to your size. While size has a role to play, it’s not the only deciding factor that plays out when two people are fighting and a street fight is proof of the same.

A street fight video shows why size does not always matter
In a recent viral video of a street, a ‘midget’ can be seen knocking out a person much bigger than himself with a single punch. In the short clip, the small person just executes his attack and disappears into the crowd as they scream in terror. This video is living proof that size does not always matter and the smaller person can turn the tables. Regardless, the shot seems to be well placed as the bigger man got knocked down in just a few moments after it landed clean on his chin.
In the past, shorter fighters have managed to do well against their taller opponents in professional fighting. Kelvin Gastelum while being 7 inches shorter than Israel Adesanya, gave him the toughest fight of his career at UFC 236. Many other short fighters in MMA have defied the odds and dominated the game despite being at a vertical disadvantage for the majority of their career. The list includes Alexander Volkanovski, Frankie Edgar, Chad Mendes, and Matt Serra. All of them held the UFC gold at least one time in their career.
Twitter users react to the shocking fight video
As soon as the video went viral with the caption “6’4 guy gets Knocked Out Cold by a 3ft tall Midget…“, people begin to react with a spectrum of comments. Some made hilarious comments, while others drew a parallel between street fighters and professional fighters.
