Jon Jones made a sensational return to the octagon after a dominating and quick win over Ciryl Gane at UFC 285. He claimed the UFC heavyweight title after beating ‘Bon Gamin’ via a guillotine submission move in the second minute of the first round. Moreover, his win has garnered reactions from many celebrities and MMA fighters, including Francis Ngannou.
Jon Jones made a statement win after a 3-year hiatus from the promotion. Although many people thought that Ciryl Gane would have given ‘Bones’ a tough fight, it did not come to fruition. Jon Jones is now the undisputed UFC heavyweight champion of the world.

Jones’ quick work of Ciryl Gane trended worldwide. Moreover, Francis Ngannou took to Twitter and congratulated the new heavyweight champion, but in a cheeky way. While he did address ‘Bones’ winning the fight, ‘The Predator’ also claimed that he was still the best heavyweight fighter.
Francis Ngannou congratulates Jon Jones
Francis Ngannou wrote on Twitter: “Good job Jonny Boy Sincerely, The heavyweight king.”
Ngannou’s tweet clearly mentions the fact that he still believes to be a better fighter than the new UFC heavyweight champion of the world. It is due to the fact that the French-Cameroonian fighter never lost the title. The UFC stripped him of it after failing to negotiate a new contract with the prestige promotion.
Good job Jonny Boy 👍
Sincerely,
The heavyweight king— Francis Ngannou (@francis_ngannou) March 5, 2023

Jon Jones now sits at the top of the heavyweight mountain after a successful debut in his first match in the heavyweight division. He has not reacted to Ngannou’s tweet as of now. However, it remains to be seen how he will clap back at the former UFC fighter.
UFC president Dana White clearly mentioned that Francis Ngannou will not be coming back to fight in the UFC. The heat between Ngannou and the UFC boss does not look like it will end anytime soon. However, Ngannou has received a lot of offers to fight for other promotions. Former boxing world champion, Deontay Wilder, has also challenged Ngannou for a 2-fight deal.

Although Francis Ngannou left the UFC due to a contract dispute, he is still on an unbeaten 6-fight winning streak. His last loss came against Derrick Lewis, who won the fight via a unanimous decision in 2018. We will have to wait and see what follows for ‘The Predator’ next.
