2001 marked the year when things changed for the UFC. Current promotion President Dana White came on board and took the helm that year and set the ball rolling. The roster started expanding and the fight cards started pulling in more crowd and PPV buys. Till then, UFC appealed to a niche crowd. Now, it is one of the most popular sports around the world.
21 years later, the UFC finds itself in the epicenter of a huge possibility. Twitter and Tesla CEO Elon Musk called out the Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg for a ‘cage fight’ at UFC Las Vegas. Zuckerberg agreed to the fight and the UFC President was the first person to say that he would be promoting the fight. Now, UFC Middleweight fighter Israel Adesanya has something to say about it – as does the UFC President.

Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg are actually taking this fight really seriously. The two have been seen training for the fight after different UFC fighters started nominating themselves to help train one fighter or the other. Recently, Elon Musk was seen sparring with one of the greatest UFC legends, Georges St-Pierre. BJJ ‘King’ Gordon Ryan shared that picture, with a call to action for Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg’s answer came really soon and how.
According to a picture that has been going viral, Mark Zuckerberg is training with Israel Adesanya and UFC Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. No venue or date has been confirmed as of yet. However, as Dana White has confirmed, both the CEOs are really serious about it.
In a recent chat via FREESTYLEBENDER on YouTube, Israel Adesanya spoke about training with Zuckerberg. “He’s like a Jack Russel. A feisty Jack Russel. Yeah!” he said.
Both Adesanya and Zuckerberg have South African rivals- Dricus Du Plessis and Elon Musk respectively. Pointing this out, the interviewer asked if there is a possibility that the two fights could be on the same fight card.

“Maybe! Maybe. I think if they fight, they should fight – they should fight – it’ll be the biggest fight… like most viewed in history. Yeah. Like the whole world will actually stop to watch that fight. That would be crazy!“, commented Adesanya, visibly shaken by the scale of the fight.
What did the UFC President have to say? Dana White’s take on the fight
The fact that Dana White expressed enthusiasm in promoting the match only goes to tell just how big this potential match can be. The UFC President said that the fight could be ‘The biggest fight ever in the history of the world’. He also suggested that the fight could possibly rake in over $1 billion, making it truly the biggest fight in the world.

Ever since White suggested that he would be promoting the fight, he has been facing a lot of backlash, with people calling him out for promoting a gimmick fight. However, White has claimed that this is not a gimmick fight but a great opportunity. He also said that UFC fighters foraying into boxing to fight professional boxers, was more suitable for that title.
Joe Rogan was also dragged into the mix as Musk seemed to entertain a fan’s suggestion of having the UFC commentator officiate the fight.
