“Let Me Fight”- as Dana White Struggles to Find Khamzat Chimaev’s Opponent, Paulo Costa Demanding to Fight at UFC 294 Has Fans Divided

The recent updates may compel fans to think that the stars aren’t in proper alignment for the materialization of the fights in UFC 294. Initially, the UFC 294 main eventer, Charles Oliveira, pulled out of his bout against Islam Makhachev due to an injury. However, the current featherweight champ, Alexander Volkanovski, accepted the bout and relieved UFC authorities. But the UFC CEO, Dana White, went into a state of worry when the UFC 294 co-main eventer, Paulo Costa, also intended that he might withdraw.

The UFC authorities set out in search of a replacement for Costa to face the noted Khamzat Chimaev. But reports say that they didn’t find much success. Amidst all of this, ‘The Eraser’ took to his account on X and gave out a shocking update. Costa’s post on ‘X’ also had the MMA community polarized. Like every other issue, a lot of fans supported him while others stood in resistance to his words.

Paulo Costa earned respect from fans after denying a pull-out of UFC 294

It was an Instagram post from Costa that revealed that he was having trouble with a staph infection in his elbow. Still, ‘Borrachinha’ didn’t showcase any thoughts of giving up. He also took the flight and landed in Abu Dhabi for the UFC 294 co-main event. But this is where things worsened. The noted MMA coverage personality Aaron Bronsteter reported, “The co-main event bout between Paulo Costa and Khamzat Chimaev is also in jeopardy after Costa recently acknowledging that he had surgery a few weeks ago”.

But lately, Costa took to his own ‘X’ account once more and posted a startling update. It partially reads, “Im not pulling out this fight anyway, let me fight the f**k gourmet Chen Chen [Khamzat Chimaev]”.

However, several fans had already received the news about Costa’s possible pullout from UFC 294. Understandably, they were pretty enthralled by such a revelation from ‘The Eraser’. A number of them gave out their thoughts in the comments section, a few of which read:

“Secret juice never fails!”

“Respect for not pulling out like charles”

“Hey Paulo are u wearing gourmet cupcake hat to the ring?”

“Paulo beats Khamzat with one arm”

“Cmon dude, kick the ugly off this dudes face!!”

But, as most of us may know, two people can often have completely different perspectives regarding the same issue. Costa’s update on ‘X’ also stood as proof of this fact.

Most fans may already know that Chimaev and Costa had gotten into an online battle prior to their fight. The altercation also involved Costa’s girlfriend, Tamara Alves. Although most fans supported Costa regarding that incident, the comments section of this post displayed a different story.

There were a number of fans who stood against ‘The Eraser’ regarding this incident. While some fans accused him of presenting his infection as an excuse not to fight, others were of the opinion that he would get manhandled by Chimaev in their fight. A few such comments read:

“If you wanted to fight you would have kept the surgery a secret and revealed it after the fight.”

“Because Khamzat owns him”

“You have a decent reason to pull out of this fight, because Khamzat will just give you an L if you didn’t”.

Despite all of this, nothing can be said about whether we will actually witness the Costa vs. Chimaev showdown happening at UFC 294 or not. What do you think?
