UFC bantamweight contender Merab Dvalishvili voiced his support for his friend and current champion, Aljamain Sterling. Furthermore, ‘The Machine’ also offered his perspective on the ongoing hype surrounding Sterling’s next opponent, Sean O’Malley. Additionally, Dvalishvili’s comments came in response to UFC President Dana White’s remarks during a press conference. White discussed the upcoming title defense of Sterling against O’Malley in the interviews post-UFC Fight Night.
Dvalishvili said in the interview with ‘The Schmo’, “I don’t know, man. Everybody pushing Aljo. I don’t know, like he’s champion, let him relax like couple months. You know that let him enjoy his time, you know. It doesn’t matter he will smash O’Malley even July or August or it doesn’t matter even tomorrow, you know. Aljo, you know, like, style makes fight and aljo can beat O’Malley. It’s not new news…”
The Georgian fighter seemed confident in the abilities of ‘Funkmaster’ as he is likely to face O’Malley in the coming months. The UFC bantamweight contender felt that Sterling was disrespected by the acts of ‘Suga’ after UFC 288. To prove his point, Dvalishvili said, “I don’t know yeah they pushing Aljo, they’re pushing champions even like even O’Malley jumped to the cage and he was disrespecting champion, ‘come on Man!’.
