Rivalries before a fight have become a trend in the UFC. However, awkward run-ins in the elevator were definitely a first. Just a couple of days away from their second showdown at UFC 304, Belal Muhammad and Leon Edwards ran into each other in an elevator. Needless to say, the cumbersome situation was a bit too much for either team to handle. But that didn’t stop them from hurling a couple of insults.
Muhammad was already inside the elevator with one of his teammates when Edwards stepped in with his brother and coach. As soon as Rocky stepped into the close space, things got tense. He acknowledged his opponent’s presence by saying, “Remember the Name!” Muhammad does not keep quiet for long. He replied, “The va***a just walked in!” Neither of the fighters wanted to escalate the awkwardness any further and engage in an altercation. But that didn’t stop them from calling each other “p***ies”.
UFC Manchester will not be the first event to feature Edwards versus Muhammad. The duo faced each other once before, back in 2021. However, that fight had to be overturned due to a nasty cut on Muhammad’s lower cul-de-sac, that he got from Edwards’ accidental eye poke. At UFC 304, the two would fight for the position of the UFC welterweight champion. But it seems like the heat has already begun to emanate with a run-in.

The comments section was filled with responses that reminded the fighting community of the words that ‘Remember The Name’ shared about the run-in. The welterweight title challenger claimed that the champ looked scared. He further proceeded to call Edwards and his teammates “cowards”. A few fans even questioned if this was the same run-in that Muhammad previously talked about. The comment read, “Is this the interaction that Belal just spoke about where Leon looked scared?” The fighting community gave its verdict and declared that “LEON WAS DEFINITELY NOT SCARED.”
However, the fight fans thought otherwise. One fan wrote, “Belal looks scared to death.” While another pointed out that Muhammad only hurled insults when Edwards was walking away at the end, quoting, “Belal didn’t start chirping until he got off the elevator lmao.” This emotion was shared by yet another comment that read, “Couldn’t say p**sy while inside elevator.”
Some of the fans felt like Muhammad simply embarrassed himself, and gave their prediction about the upcoming fight. A comment read, “Belal embarrassed himself 😂 u gotta say something and not just stand there starting like a lost puppy 😂 10-6 Leon.”

But the way Edwards and Muhammad handled the situation by not engaging in an altercation despite the immense heat emanating from their rivalry, speaks a lot about their self-control. Without a doubt, this wasn’t missed by the fight fans. “This is good. New way put fighter and team inside elevator and Must not fight. Just look and speak @ufc,” a comment read.
