When your brother is Alex Pereira, there’s no question about giving up. ‘Poatan’s’ sister, Aline Pereira, stunned Conor McGregor’s teammate, Dee Begley, at the Karate Combat 50 bout with a knockout via an identical left hook. After years of inactivity, Aline Pereira was stepping into the Octagon, facing the much more active Begley on short notice. In addition to the short-notice fight, the Irish fighter weighed 9 pounds over the 125-pound limit set for the match, but Pereira didn’t shy away from the action.
She stunned the audience in Salt Lake City at Karate Combat 50 when she knocked out her opponent with a signature left hook. Aline first threw a straight right hand before landing the devastating left hook, sending the Irish fighter to the canvas. Aline then jumped on her opponent, delivering back-to-back punches until the referee stopped the match, with just 35 seconds remaining in the first round.
