Metallica’s bassist Robert Trujillo sat down with Mike Bohn from MMA Junkie and talked about the band’s upcoming performance. Metallica will be performing on Saturday’s Triller Triad Combat event that pits MMA fighters against boxers. Stars like Frank Mir, Kubrat Pulev, and ‘Rampage’ Jackson have associated themselves with the project in varying capacities.
Apart from talking shop, Trujillo also went in on his general love for combat sports and the UFC in particular. He even went so far as to name his favorite fighter to watch and commented on the evolution of the UFC. According to Trujillo, the UFC has evolved so much that professional athletes from other sports look up to fighters and the work they put in.
“I can’t believe what it’s [UFC] has evolved into because it’s just grown into one of the most popular sports on the planet right now. And it’s for everybody. How often when you watch a fight like this, you’re seeing people from all walks of life.”
