Submission finishes are fun, but the excitement that a knockout can create is second to none. That’s exactly what went down at Dana White‘s Contender Series as London-based fighter Lone’er Kavanagh scored a picture-perfect knockout to kick off the event, and guess what? The exciting finish left the UFC CEO lost for words.

Having entered the world’s premiere MMA promotion with a 6-0 record, Lone’er Kavanagh left no doubts in Dana White’s mind about his undefeated status. After he knocked out An Tuan Ho, the camera panned to the 55-year-old and his expression is one to remember, shocked at what he had just witnessed.

It took just 2 minutes and 35 seconds for the 25-year-old prospect to put his opponent to sleep, and that too, with a clubbing blow to the face. Dana White appeared so shocked that the only thing that he had to say was, “Holy sh*t!” The UFC CEO would later appear to address the media, where he labeled Kavanagh’s knockout win as the most brutal one in the history of the DWCS.

“That was vicious. One of the nastiest knockouts we’ve ever seen on the show [DWCS] and we’ve seen some sh*t on this show… and again, that kid is no slouch either,” said Dana White. Several social media posts showed his shocking reaction to the finish of the DWCS 67 opener, and he’s definitely waiting for much more than that from the 7-0 prospect.

“It’s not like you saw this vicious knockout against the can that you threw in there against somebody that’s on the rise. That was a real fight, two real guys. I’m excited to see what Kavanagh does in the UFC,” Dana White added.

“That feels amazing. I was saying to my coaches. I was like, I didn’t realize it was like a big viral knockout. Seeing them post and stuff like that, it’s insane,” said Lone’er Kavanagh during the post-fight presser. “It hasn’t really sunk in yet.
