Paulo Costa has one interesting condition for Khamzat Chimaev. And this just might cost ‘Borz’ his home. Everyone considers the Costa vs. Chimaev fight the better one of the pay-per-view. Yes, this is in spite of the fact that Islam Makhachev is also going up against Charles Oliveira for the title in the main event.
Recently, Costa and his coach Eric Albarracin sat down for an interview with Ariel Helwani of The MMA Hour. The two discussed an update on Costa’s very recent elbow injury and then about the upcoming fight. The good news is that Costa will still be fighting, the bad, at least for Chimaev is that Team Costa’s conditions will have him in a bad spot. Here’s the story.

Recently, Khamzat Chimaev left his country, Sweden, to become a citizen of the United Arab Emirates instead. The shocking move was very sudden and took the MMA world by storm in no time. Now, Costa and Chimaev are about to fight in the UAE for UFC 294. In light of these events, Costa’s coach Albarracin told Helwani their proposal for the loser of the fight.
“I have a proposal okay,” started Albarracin. “Winner of the UFC 294 fights for the middleweight title, and the loser leaves the UAE forever. Everything he (Chimaev) said goes against the peace and hospitality of the UAE. Every tweet, every statement, every DM. Every attempt to sabotage team Costa here it’s like adding lava to a dormant mountain.”
The coach is most likely referring to Chimaev’s most recent antics. The fighter made the questionable decision of sending an inappropriate DM to Costa’s girlfriend. The screenshot of the message shared by Costa soon went viral on the internet and fans went wild over it.
While Costa had the snarkiest response to the text, he still doesn’t seem way too happy about it. The fighter admitted that a line was crossed and there was no reason to bring in his family. However, what’s done is done and now Costa looks forward to evicting his opponent from his brand new home.

What happened to Costa’s elbow before the fight
Costa left his home to fly to the UAE under unsettling circumstances. When he appeared in the interview, he had a bandaged right arm. His elbow was injured in Brazil and once he flew in, he found out there was an infection as well. Along with the infection came some inflammation that could be a problem going further.

However, in spite of it all, Costa is still willing to fight and promises that he will make it. In fact, he seemed fully focused on winning the fight and showing Chimaev who really deserves to be in line for a championship fight. Who do you support in the upcoming pay-per-view?
