Dana White exposed again—Is the UFC really the best place for fighters to thrive?

Muhammad Mokaev wants you to know that he is doing great after exiting from the UFC. The flyweight contender found himself out of the job after his UFC 304 fight against Manel Kape. Despite winning his fight, the UFC decided to terminate his contract which surprised many out there. UFC CEO Dana White made it clear that Mokaev was rubbing matchmakers and staff the wrong way for all sorts of reasons, forcing him to take the decision.

“So long and good luck with your career” were the words of the UFC head honcho. Many felt that the “good luck” part sounded a bit sarcastic. However, Mokaev took those words seriously and once again highlighted the pay disparity in the UFC with his latest post.

For a long period of time, one of the biggest talks of town has been the pay disparity in the UFC. It is believed that despite earning a good amount of money, Dana White doesn’t pay his fighters well. While the UFC head honcho might vehemently deny the fact, there are many instances to prove the point. The latest one is a recent post by MMA Jabs on Instagram. It shared a tweet by Mokaev on his X account, which shows that he is the highest-paid flyweight in the world.

Mokaev currently competes in the Brave Combat Federation (Brave CF) in the flyweight division after getting axed from the UFC. He took to his X account to share a tweet and tagged Brave CF, which read as, “Highest paid flyweight fighter in the world right now without holding the title.” The interesting thing is how a small league run by Bahraini royal Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa is paying their fighters three times more than the UFC. No wonder the fighters have been vocal about this particular problem for a long time now.

MMA Jabs reposted this tweet on their Instagram page with a caption, “3 times more than UFC.” Three times as much might not be as impressive if we consider the payouts. In April 2023, Mokaev pointed out that his purse was $38,000, irrespective of show or win. Now, if we take into consideration that his amount was one part of the show and win, the undefeated fighter can earn up to six figures in his new venture.

The 24-year-old was, without a doubt, one of the finest talents in the UFC. He put on some memorable performances inside the Octagon during his time at the promotion. Despite staying undefeated, the UFC had no hesitation in letting go of the flyweight talent. What really forced the UFC to take such a huge step? Let us take a look at the reason below.

Muhammad Mokaev was shown the door from the UFC because of these reasons

Naturally, Muhammad Mokaev’s previous exploits, such as his altercation with Manel Kape in the hotel lobby before their UFC 304 match, are well-known to fans. That was the beginning of their rivalry, and Kape was so furious and upset with Mokaev that he had to be restrained from attacking him inside the octagon before the bell for their UFC match rang!

Not to mention the allegations made by his fellow flyweight Steve Erceg regarding the Dagestani native’s conceited and impolite behavior. The 24-year-old has been rude towards the UFC employees and his teammates backstage as well. Naturally, Dana White had stated that Mokaev’s termination was the result of a variety of things that are now clear to the fans. While his outside antiques are clear, the other big reason for his termination was his heavy wrestling-based game, which made most of his fights boring to watch.

The former national wrestling champion’s allegedly dull, grappling-heavy combat style, where his main focus was to go for takedowns, faced a lot of criticism from the promotion. Before his UFC 304 fight, in fact, the UFC specifically told him to try something out of the books or else he would have to face the consequences. Mokaev was sacked soon after for not taking the advice of the UFC CEO Dana White. Hopefully, he can learn from his past mistakes and perform to his full potential in his new company.
