Leaked Footage Reveals Security Failure as Fan Crashes Into Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis’ UFC 297 Press Conference

The UFC 297 pre-fight press conference came with a surprise to Sean Strickland. While the crowd at the event showed a lot of love for the middleweight champion, one fan went all the way in to show his love for ‘Tarzan’. The fan in question ran up on stage to greet Strickland in a never-before-seen situation.

There is no doubt that Sean Strickland has developed a considerable fan base for himself. His raw and ever-vocal attitude is something that fans adore about him. However, some fans are just too passionate, which was apparent during the recent press conference. Let’s take a look at what transpired during the event.

Fan gets past security to shake Sean Strickland’s hand

Despite having a heated back-and-forth with Dricus du Plessis and even getting into a brawl, Sean Strickland appeared to show a lot of respect for his title challenger. Although that was refreshing to witness, a surprise was waiting for the middleweight champion. A recently leaked video on social media showed a fan, who was in the crowd, making his way past the security to have a moment with Strickland and shake his hand. However, the security team was quick to drag the fan off the stage.

Nevertheless, Sean Strickland got excited witnessing the fan’s love for him and started yelling at the microphone. He continued to show his excitement even after the security team quickly resolved the situation, which also made Dana White and the other fighters on the stage smile as well.

On the other hand, while Strickland showed a lot of respect to Dricus du Plessis, the same cannot be said for Colby Covington. He had some choice words for the former interim welterweight champion.

‘Tarzan’ went off on Colby Covington

Sean Strickland apparently has no respect for Colby Covington. He went on an X-rated rant after someone mentioned ‘Chaos’s name. Strickland claimed that Covington was a selfish man who is only concerned with himself and not anybody else. He said, “Colby Covington is a f***ing fraud. He don’t give a f*** about anybody himself, man.”

Strickland further went on to say that what Colby Covington said about Leon Edwards‘s father was nothing short of shameful. Moreover, he praised ‘Rocky’ for standing his ground and coming out on top at UFC 296. “It’s a shame, it’s a f***ing damn shame that he f***ing is even in that Octagon talking his s***. He is a f***ing coward, and I’m happy that Leon came out and represented,” the middleweight champion added.

While the press conference was eventful, to say the least, Sean Strickland will have to focus on defending his title. He shook hands with Dricus du Plessis on stage, promising the fans to deliver a great fight for them. It remains to be seen if he can come out on top in his first title defense or if the South African realizes his dream and becomes the world champion.
