At the UFC 285 weigh-ins show, Sanko was all praises for Rakhmonov and his UFC record. She even stated that he gives her chills, and she would be nervous to talk to him. Such a statement led fans to believe that she has a crush on Rakhmonov. Many fan pages shared this clip and rumors started to circulate about Sanko having a crush on the fighter.

However, Sanko cleared the air about all these rumors at the UFC 287 weigh-in show. At the weigh-ins, Rakhmonov’s training partner Gerald Meerschaert said that he can arrange Rakhmonov’s number for Sanko. However, she quickly cleared the air and said that she does not have a crush on Rakhmonov.

“I don’t have a crush on the man. I like his fighting style. An entire country thinks I do and I need to correct the record. Still a fan, I just don’t have a crush. The entire country of Kazakhstan is very excited about it because I got like 20,000 new followers after that day. No, I have a husband,” said Sanko.

Laura Sanko has been a recognizable face at the UFC for a long time now. She started as a commentator on Dana White’s Contender Series. After that, she was promoted to cover UFC events. In Feb 2023, she became the first female color commentator for a UFC event.

What a lot of people do not know is that Sanko was also a trained fighter. She holds a brown belt in BJJ. Not only this, but she also holds a professional MMA record of 1 win and 0 loss. She fought her first and only professional MMA bout in 2013 against Cassie Robb. Sanko won the fight via a rear naked choke in the second round.
