Amidst the huge Joe Rogan and Spotify controversy, some of Neil Young’s music has stayed on the audio streaming platform. This news comes after the singer-songwriter announced he will remove his music from Spotify.

Even though most of his music is not available on the streaming platform, some of his songs are. Many speculated that he has returned, however, that isn’t the case. First reported by Reuters, some of his music from soundtracks and compilations that could not be removed stayed. His page on Spotify currently has songs like ‘Heart of Gold’ and ‘Harvest Moon.’ Both are a part of the ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ soundtrack.

The whole issue started around last month. Young demanded that Spotify remove his music. This was in protest to him claiming that Joe Rogan was spreading misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccines. Rogan’s podcast, the Joe Rogan Experience, airs on the streaming platform and millions of people tune in to listen to it.

The veteran singer said Spotify “can have Rogan or Young. Not both.” Many other prominent personalities also joined him and removed their catalog from the platform. However, Spotify stuck with Rogan and said that canceling him was not the solution.

Joe Rogan’s Spotify deal more than initially reported

While the Joe Rogan controversy continues to be the center of attention, another detail about his deal Spotify deal has come out. It was initially thought Rogan signed a deal with the audio streaming platform in 2020 that was worth $100 million.

But now, according to the latest reports, the deal was worth $200 million.

This is huge, especially during the times he is under fire. However, the long-time UFC commentator has found a lot of support. Many celebrities and prominent personalities have come out in his support. During the last UFC pay-per-view, UFC 271, the fans in the crowd start chanting ‘Free Joe Rogan’ in his support.

That came after he, just days before the event, decided to not join the commentary team, citing a conflict of schedule. Which UFC president Dana White completely dismissed. It is not yet clear if Rogan will return to the commentary team for the next PPV.
