UFC star Conor McGregor’s long-awaited return to the octagon resembles witnessing a sun trapped in an endless eclipse. Initially set to return earlier this summer, he was halted by a “pinky toe” injury. Just as he recovered, McGregor faced another setback when his longtime scheduled opponent, Micheal Chandler moved on after waiting for him for more than 18 months. As his career now teeters on the brink, the Irishman is fervently determined to fight, whether it’s in the MMA octagon or a boxing ring.
Recently, ‘Mystic Mac’ called out YouTuber-turned-boxer KSI at the memorable BKFC Marbella event. While speaking to Misfit Boxing, he took a jab at KSI’s newly released track ‘Thick of It,’ dismissing it as a “bullsh-t song.” The host, embodying the mischievous spirit of the Norse mythological god Loki—known for instigating conflicts between figures, prompted KSI for his opinion on McGregor’s derogatory remarks.

Unable to hold back his anger, KSI slammed McGregor, stating, “I tweeted that you can hear the embarrassment in his voice, man. I feel like he is a disgrace to the whole of Ireland, a disgrace to his family, and I don’t know—it’s embarrassing. I think he is an embarrassment. He is nothing right now, and he’s just waltzing about like he is the shit when he isn’t.”

This marks a rare occasion when someone has invoked Conor McGregor‘s nationality and family in trash talk, a strategy McGregor is notorious for in his mental warfare. He previously escalated tensions during his feud with Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, labeling Nurmagomedov’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, “f–king snitch t-rr-rist.” Moreover, not long ago, Nurmagomedov’s manager offered his perspective on the motivations behind McGregor’s trash-talking persona.
Ali Abdelaziz critiques the motivation behind Conor McGregor’s trash-talking persona
In the world of MMA, where rivalries often escalate, the feud between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov, along with his team, has reached a peak that extends beyond the octagon. This tension erupted six years ago during the infamous bus attack after the UFC 223 media day, leading to one of the most heated fights in UFC history, one known for generating lucrative revenue and intensifying the rivalry between two world-class fighters.
Even after six years, the animosity between them remains alive. While Nurmagomedov may choose to stay silent on ‘Mystic Mac’, the latter does not back off when taking verbal jabs at his rival’s team. This team includes Islam Makhachev and Ali Abdelaziz, who also never shy away from exchanging barbs.
Speaking to ‘Submission Radio’ recently, Abdelaziz criticized McGregor’s trash-talking persona, claiming, “Why do you think [Michael] Chandler is being so nice to him? Why? Because he was being told not to talk bad about Conor. Conor has to start talking bad, and he talks bad back. He’s a weak mental midget. He’s soft like a marshmallow. And he’s a no-good son of a bitch. This is what he is.”
What are your thoughts on KSI’s remark? Given his penchant for trash talk, is Conor McGregor “embarrassing” the legacy he forged during the modern era of the UFC, often referred to as the ‘McGregor era’? Drop your opinion below.
