UFC 313 might have begun an hour late with fighters pulling out at the last moment, but the event made it up for fans as they got to witness one of the most impressive wheel kicks ever. The entire fighting community was left in awe as Mauricio Ruffy knocked King Green in the first round of their fight. Joe Rogan even claimed that it might be one of the most beautiful wheel kicks that the world saw in the MMA realm. However, the concern for Green was pretty evident as well.
As the lightweight bout came to an end, the entire world was split between awe and worry. Rogan and Daniel Cormier were visibly concerned about the 38-year-old lightweight. The way Green fell, face down on the canvas, left the commentary team gasping. The former heavyweight champion pointed out that things were tough for Green because he kept his hands down during the fight. And that was just the beginning of his concerns. On top of the KO, there was blood trickling out of Green’s nose, further amplifying concerns.
Most fighting fans considered the knockout worthy of being the Knockout of the Year. Ruffy ended the fight in style with Green folding like a chair. He dropped face down and went straight to the shadow realm, leaving no room or need for some ground and pound. Of course, that was yet another reason why the world of mixed martial arts was worried about him.

After knocking out King Green, Mauricio Ruffy takes aim at Beneil Dariush at UFC 313
During the Octagon interview with Joe Rogan, Ruffy revealed his interest in getting two bonuses. He said, “Listen I’ve been thinking at home so many times, what it would take for a fighter to get two bonuses in one night? Maybe two bonuses for the night?” But the Brazilian lightweight’s future prospect was still unknown. And that’s where Rogan put his next question at. Ruffy replied, “What do you think? Mauricio Ruffy, Beneil Dariush, a fight night main event, what do you think?” The UFC color commentator had no choice but to admit how amazing that sounded.
