Despite getting a fight against Robert Whittaker at Riyadh, Khamzat Chimaev has found his way back to the controversial grounds with a new Reddit post circling the internet. The post lumped together the likes of Vitor Belfort, Kamaru Usman, and Jon Jones, highlighting the bumps on their stomach. It pointed towards the fighters’ alleged use of performance-enhancing drugs. However, Derek Munro recently debunked all myths.

The host of ‘More Plates More Dates’ took to his YouTube channel and revealed a bump on the belly did not indicate an injection site. He was pretty clear about it, claiming that Chimaev’s belly bump was, in fact, not a sign of steroidal or PED use. Here is what the fitness influencer had to say.

Munro, one of the many guests previously invited by Joe Rogan on his podcast, recently stumbled upon the Reddit post that has been circling around the internet, claiming that Chimaev underwent PED abuse.

Pointing out the bumps on the fighter’s body, Munro said, “These are not injection sites. These are probably little fat nodules or deposits, like a lipoma or something… Khamzat’s stomach had a bunch of little nodules all over it, and people were showing how this was a sign of PED use…”

Thereafter, he talked about Belfort, who was previously caught using performance enhancers. However, the signs that were highlighted in the Reddit post did not give proof of PED use. He reasoned that those bumps could be due to fat deposits. Nevertheless, the YouTuber was adamant with his take on the issue.

“But it does not mean that because he has these that he is cheating,” Munro said, “You will find these in tons of people that are not cheaters. This was a Reddit thread that basically lumped in Khamzat with these guys who, people think, you know, some of them have been actually caught for cheating before, but ultimately, like lumping him in with them because he also has bumps on his stomach is certainly not evidence of anything, especially based on the placement.”

But this wasn’t the only PED allegation Chimaev faced.

Previous allegations against the ‘Chechen Wolf’

Jorge Masvidal before his fight with Gilbert Burns, back at UFC 287, lashed out at the Swedish fighter for repeatedly missing weight. Albeit, Chimaev was not safe from allegations of steroidal abuse. In conversation with Ariel Helwani on ‘The MMA Hour’, Masvidal sternly targeted the Swedish mixed martial artist.

He said, “Don’t do steroids and make the fking weight that you agreed upon as a f***ing man.” Nevertheless, all the allegations against the fighter seem to have been dropped after Munro’s justification went online.

Now, the Chechen mixed martial artist is all set to fight ‘The Reaper’ in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on June 23. After ages of asking for a fight, Chimaev will finally have a chance to redeem himself in the Octagon.
