The YouTube channel Young ‘n’ Faded MMA Society shared the clip from the interview with Khamzat’s coach. In the clip, the interviewer asks the coach about the recent reports that emerged online. Regarding Khamzat Chimaev’s participation in a sparring brawl.
The coach, when asked about the incident, responded, “Listen, that is the kind of situation that… if no one has said anything about it or shared it, I’m not talking (about it) either. But we watched the footage from the cameras, and it was interesting.” While details surrounding the recent sparring session with Ali Aliev remain scarce, it adds another chapter to the ongoing drama surrounding Khamzat Chimaev.
Chimaev is no stranger to heated sparring sessions, and fans aren’t pleased
This incident is not the first time he finds himself in such a situation. Earlier this year, a video shared by ESPN showcased Khamzat engaging in intense training with a fellow gym member. The clip begins innocently enough, with both fighters exchanging technical blows and moving around the ring. However, things took a drastic turn when Khamzat’s sparring partner landed a powerful right hook to his head.

Reacting to the punch, Khamzat removed his headgear and unleashed a relentless barrage of punches on his sparring partner. Despite the partner’s attempts to defend himself, Khamzat’s onslaught proved too overwhelming, and the clip abruptly ends. The video quickly went viral, and many fans expressed disappointment. Expressing that a professional UFC fighter should exercise restraint and avoid such escalations when sparring with an amateur.
The upcoming event in Abu Dhabi has the MMA community eagerly anticipating the fights. But is also prompting the question of whether fighters should be held more accountable for preventing a sparring session from escalating into a full-blown fight. The incident involving Khamzat serves as a reminder to all. Even in controlled training environments, tempers can flare, leading to unexpected altercations.
As the fighter continues his preparation for a potential matchup against Kamaru Usman, fans and critics alike will be closely watching to see how he handles himself inside and outside the Octagon.
