Khamzat Chimaev and Darren Till might hail from the same land, but their relationship is something that will be spoken of highly in the entire universe of combat sports. Although training is one of the things that unites the two, they perform many other activities together. Even their families know a lot about each other. However, Till’s recent defeat has put him in a sour mood lately. But as all good friends do, Chimaev went head first in an attempt to cheer up his friend.

Till was defeated in the third round by Plessis in UFC 282. The third consecutive loss took a toll on Till. The fighter later decided to take some time to reflect upon himself. Furthermore, he wished to spend Christmas days with his family.
Khamzat Chimaev stands up for his friend
Khamzat Chimaev and Darren Till’s friendship is indeed one of those that developed into a brotherhood. Following his loss against Dricus Du Plessis in the Fight of the Night at UFC 282, Till was unable to get back up as legends like Nate Diaz kept on slamming him. The stoppage loss was the third match ‘Gorilla’ lost in a row. The middleweight fighter was seemingly sliding into a stage of depression as he revealed he was going to take some time off to reflect upon himself.

However, it was Chimaev who broke the silence and gave his friend an uplifting push. He took to Instagram and posted a photo of the two on a ‘Bad Boys’ poster. Seemingly inspired by Will Smith from the movie, he wrote, “My Brother” in the caption.
Without a doubt, Till appreciated the gesture, as he replied with heart emojis on the post. The ‘Borz’ and the ‘Gorilla’ have never stopped giving each other support whenever in need. They are examples of great friends indeed.
Darren Till’s message after his loss:
The ‘Gorilla’ apologized for the loss while claiming that he did his best to put on a good show. Additionally, he also said that he trains hard. Till matched his opponent throughout the fight. But ultimately, it was in the third and final round where he had to submit.
Following his loss in the UFC 282, Till got into his shell and released a video on social media. While many fans were wondering if it was his retirement speech, the fighter simply denied it. However, his decision to do some soul-searching was, in fact, what he needed.

“Now, I don’t know what to do properly, but I think I’m going to have a little time off from the UFC, I don’t know, and just rethink stuff. I’m not retired, I want to fight, I want to fight next year, but now I just want to spend Christmas with my family, have a good time with my friends, and everybody who supports me, my team back home.” said the fighter.
