Khamzat Chimaev has a massive hurdle in front of him, as he squares against #2 Gilbert Burns at UFC 273. However, the big moment is not affecting ‘Borz’ as he is already setting big goals for himself. Chimaev has been aiming for a showdown with not only Kamaru Usman, but also Israel Adesanya.
Ahead of his massive welterweight clash, the Swedish fighter sat down with former dual weight champion, Daniel Cormier.

In his conversation with ‘DC‘, Chimaev revealed that Usman was too old and slow for him. After ranting on Usman, Chimaev went further and spoke about a potential showdown with ‘The Last Stylebender’.
Chimaev said, “Israel, I think he will fight me. I don’t think the guy is scared. He’s gonna fight. That guy gonna fight with me and I will fight the guy as well.”
After anticipating a bout with the Adesanya, Chimaev added, “But this guy, not my level. The guy, if he gives his back to this guy, who’s never did wrestling in UFC. He never took somebody down, you know, somebody choke out. He always did strike… Whittaker, you know, took his back. If I take his back, brother, it’s done for him.”
Chimaev is riding a combination of momentum and hype around him. Thus, it would be interesting to see how the middleweight champion responds to this callout.

The middleweight division has not shown the same depth as some other divisions in the UFC. Hence, one or two wins for Chimaev would be enough for him to step against the Kiwi kickboxer.
However, before all that, Chimaev has to go through the fast, aggressive striker with power in both hands and a world-class jiujitsu artist, Gilbert Burns at UFC 273.

‘Borz’ vs ‘Durinho’ is the people’s main event at UFC 273. All the promotional clips from the UFC have been pulling great numbers. Thus, the big showdown has massive implications for the welterweight division. Hence, many UFC fighters are giving their prediction of the bout.
The UFC middleweight king suggested Burns would be a big test for the newcomer, Chimaev. As a result, he would be rooting for the Brazilian to beat Chimaev.
