Is Jon Jones truly unbeatable, or will Stipe Miocic prove he's still the heavyweight king?

Will Jon Jones fight Tom Aspinall? Well, we don’t know that yet, but what we do know is that he’s coming back in action next month against the decorated Stipe Miocic. With less than a month to go, predictions have started to pour in for this legacy bout and recently Khamzat Chimaev gave his verdict on the big-time heavyweight clash, ahead of his return on Saturday against Robert Whittaker in Abu Dhabi.

Jon Jones decimated Ciryl Gane within two minutes in his heavyweight debut to claim the title in just one fight in the division. Meanwhile, Stipe Miocic has already registered his claim as the most accomplished heavyweight on multiple occasions. The UFC’s resident firefighter also has a win over Francis Ngannou, who is known to be ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’. Meanwhile, Chimaev claimed that the UFC 309 main event is for Jones to win, whom he also revealed to be his favorite fighter of all time.

“Jon Jones [is his favorite fighter]… I think he will win that fight [against Stipe Miocic],” Khamzat Chimaev stated on the ‘Eye AM Podcast’. But when the host asked him about any of the fighter’s age coming into play during the fight, ‘Borz’ shared an honest answer, claiming that anybody can get clipped with one lucky shot in a fight. So there might be a chance the decision doesn’t go in favor of Jones. However, Chimaev’s hoping for ‘Bones’ to win and if he does, he hopes he hangs up his gloves thereafter, given that he’s proven himself already.

“Of course, everyone become old. When [you] become old, everyone start to lose… it can happen with anyone but I hope he’s finished after the fight. He’s been a legend. Nobody could beat him,” the Emirati star further stated. Khamzat Chimaev also claims that Jon Jones has been able to become unbeatable due to one particular reason. Let’s see what that’s all about.

“He faced different monsters… He faced the monsters [and] he became a different monster,” Khamzat Chimaev added. The supposed “monsters” that ‘Borz’ is talking about include legends like Lyoto Machida, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, Mauricio Rua, Glover Teixeira, and Daniel Cormier; the list can go on and on, with many other Hall of Famers as scalps for ‘Bones’.
