Earlier he wasn’t even in the top-15 of the division until his fourth win. Hence, many believed it was too early for him to receive a title shot. However, now the Russian-born fighter has mauled his way into the top-15 of the division.

‘Borz’ is currently No. 11 on the 170lbs roster and is fighting No. 2 ranked fighter, Gilbert Burns, at UFC 273 next. And Chimaev firmly believes that Dana White will give him a title shot if he wins this fight.

In a recent interview with Daniel Cormier, Chimaev said, “I am ready. I said from my first fight, I come here to take my belt. And I am still saying that after all my fights.”

“Last time I said I am the king here. You know, I was screaming all over the arena. I am the king and nobody wants to stop me. Everyone’s like talking like the guy is not top 10.” He added.
