Khalil Rountree Jr.’s defeat to Alex Pereira at UFC 307 did not dampen his fighting spirit. Despite suffering significant facial cuts and stitches, ‘The War Horse’ remains determined to continue his MMA career. Michael Bisping interviewed Rountree Jr. after his UFC 307 fight against Alex Pereira. He spoke about his fight and also how he will be ready for the next bout shortly. The LHW trailblazer said that he wanted to learn more and get as experienced as the Brazilian champ. On that note, he said, “I’m learning there’s a lot more for me to learn. I think that knowing Alex you know he’s 37, 38. I am 34. So, I’d imagine that like in three years, when I am the same age, I’d love to have you know the same; similar experience and knowledge you know.”
The ‘War Horse’ expressed his desire to be involved in the discussions surrounding the division gold, indicating his ambition to compete for the championship in the near future. He insinuated his request to White and said, “So regarding that fight, I think you know anyone in the top five for me would be great. I’d love to continue to fight you know; guys who have fought for the title already and kind of just stay in those talks. Until it happens again.”
On top of that Rountree Jr. can be slightly content because Dana White was not only impressed by his performance but also vouched for the rankings that he deserved. The UFC head honcho recently addressed the discrepancies in the official UFC rankings and slammed the media management for their botched body of work.
