Khalil Rountree Jr. was comparable to a sprinkler of blood after his UFC 307 encounter against Alex Pereria. ‘The War Horse’ had his face adorned with cuts, bruises, and a disfigured nose. Yet, astonishingly, according to Rountree Jr, every punch that ‘Poatan’ landed was almost like a reset button for his brain!
He even shared the same on Pound 4 Pound and had high credit for the light heavyweight champion’s skills. He stated, “Like I said, I felt like I was prepared I didn’t feel my cardio decreasing until he started landing punches. I think that is what really took it out of me cause when he turned up the pressure, and when he started landing on me, every time a punch landed I just felt like my energy zapping, and like every round he came out fresh and I didn’t expect him to come out with more pressure every round that he did. And I think that was like the biggest surprise for me.”
The battle between Pereira and Rountree Jr. was an all-timer with both fighters pushing their limits. Poatan emerged victorious while ‘The War Horse’ exited the cage with blood and tears. Even after the shattering loss, the challenger praised Pereira’s skills and thanked him for the unforgettable night. Despite the Brazilian’s dominant outing, boxing sensation Jake Paul remained critical of certain aspects of his fighting style.

Alex Pereira’s reputation as the best striker in UFC has been cemented after his previous three outings. His punches have earned comparisons to Francis Ngannou who was once credited by head honcho Dana White as the hardest hitter in the world. However, YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has expressed confidence in his ability to defeat the light heavyweight king in a boxing match.
“1000 percent I’d beat him. Rountree Jr. actually kind of exposed that he doesn’t have a high-volume output, he doesn’t like body shots,” Jake Paul said during his live stream video with Kick streamer Adin Ross. However, he did acknowledge Pereira’s prowess inside the octagon and admitted that he would be beaten to a pulp if the fight were to be contested in the UFC.
Dana White has previously stated that anyone is welcome to attend UFC events, raising the possibility of a future matchup between Alex Pereira and Jake Paul. During ‘UFC Sphere’, Paul attempted to enter in disguise, but his presence was discovered by White, who was oblivious to Paul’s previous attempts to attend UFC events under his current ban.

White cleared this fact in the post-fight presser and said that no one was banned and anyone could come to any UFC event. “Nobody is banned from the UFC. Listen, that kid knows how to market and do his thing, and you know, all that, all that good sh–. But yeah. Jake Paul is welcome to come into UFC. He just can’t bring that, you know,” said White.
