Former UFC two-division champion, Henry Cejudo, has openly called out the current UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski on multiple occasions. ‘Triple C’ hasn’t competed in the octagon since his UFC bantamweight title defense against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249. He announced his retirement after the fight but is itching to fight again, and there is only one man in his sights, Alexander Volkanovski.

Many people have questioned Cejudo over the fact that if he comes back and wins, he’ll retire again. That will be bad for the whole featherweight division.

Ali Abdelaziz, the manager of ‘Triple C’, recently clarified the situation.

In a recent interview, Abdelaziz said, “I will never be involved if I think Henry will beat Alexander and move on, I will never be involved. I value the relationship with the UFC and Dana… When I asked Henry last Thursday night, ‘if you win this title would you defend it?’, he said ‘absolutely, I would defend it and if I lose, I’ll go down to 135.'”

Ali also mentioned that Henry just wanted to take a step back when he retired. Abdelaziz said, “He competed on such a high level since he was 12 years old… Sometimes not only physically, but mentally. He wanted to miss the competition. Right now, he’s in the gym, he’s helping with coaching, and he just wanted to compete.”

Cejudo is helping Zhang Weili train for her title fight against Rose Namajunas. Deiveson Figueiredo has also shifted his camp to America to train with Cejudo for his title fight against Brandon Moreno.
