Conor McGregor has found a new obsession. The Irishman, despite his long layoff, keeps a keen eye on the waves in the lightweight division. Further, he has kept himself in the division’s fold with his jibes at the top-ranked fighters. While ‘The Notorious’ teases and calls out fighters, a probable fight remains a distant dream. However, this time he is behind a title, not a fighter.
It appears the newly crowned BMF champion, Justin Gaethje, has enticed McGregor. The 35-year-old fighter has been itching to have a go at ‘The Highlight’ ever since the latter defeated Dustin Poirier at UFC 291. In fact, he believes he is the rightful holder of the BMF title, which now belongs to the 155-pound division. While the Dubliner is relying on his prodigal skills on the mic to make the fight happen, Ali Abdelaziz believes there is nothing in it for the American fighter. But it seems he had a case of butterfingers, or rather, of mind.

The famed manager, who managed Khabib Nurmagomedov and frequently engages in back-and-forth with McGregor, recently turned to his Twitter handle. He was responding to Gaethje as the latter asked “big boy” McGregor to sign a fight contract. Previously, the Dubliner had proclaimed to slap around the BMF champion and later declared, “I KO him one shot”.
The 45-year-old manager didn’t buy these claims. Therefore, to get back at the former UFC champion, he pointed out McGregor’s dismal record. But he ended up confusing it with Tony Ferguson’s record, who also fought at UFC 291 and had a tough night in the office.
He is 0-6

Abdelaziz wrote, “He is 0-6”.
While McGregor’s recent record is nothing to boast about, he is still a feared fighter in the ranks. Notably, McGregor is 1-3 in his last four fights inside the Octagon. The record fails to justify his caliber as a fighter.
He last fought against Poirier at UFC 264 but left the arena on a stretcher with a broken leg. The injury also put him on a shelf, as he catered to his injury. Moreover, he is speculated to make a return this year against Michael Chandler, or at least he was before he started flirting with Gaethje with a possible fight.

The 22-6 record holder is willing to ditch ‘Iron’ as he wants a shot at the coveted BMF title. “I’m the real bmf…I’m in it to launch shots, f*ck chandler, you want it call for it.”
On the other hand, Chandler remains hopeful about the fight against McGregor. Shunning the rumors, he recently announced, “Yes, it’s going to be McGregor and Chandler.”
