UFC’s iconic fighters Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov know when to keep their rivalry aside and speak out on devastating problems engulfing the world. The duo are no strangers to personal struggles be it losing a family member or fighting a civil lawsuit. Both the former dualweight champ and retired Hall of Famer realize the impact of global issues very well.

Right now, both of them are speaking out on the Israel-Palestine conflict that started in 1948 and saw major escalations in 2023, with a war in Gaza that has been going on for 15 months now. In these moments of devastation, many personalities from the UFC and otherwise have united to call for peace. From Islam Makhachev to the actor Mark Ruffalo, everyone is stressing the dire need to safeguard humanity.

Recently, rumors of an immediate ceasefire, being brokered by President-elect Donald Trump have been making the rounds. This brought some semblance of hope in the hearts of many including Conor McGregor. ‘The Notorious’ recently shared a thought on X, writing, “Peace in the world, please, God!”. His arch Khabib gave concerning news through his Instagram stories. ‘The Eagle’ shared a news snippet from law professor and author Khaled Beydoun that read, “Breaking: At least 80 killed in Gaza in the last 24 hours as violence intensifies amid ceasefire talks.”

After the Irishman posted his prayers on X, the Dagestani phenom chimed in with the same message by posting on Instagram. Khabib shared a story with the post by an Irish professor who publicly expressed support for Gaza. He accompanied it with the caption, “Dublin, Ireland stands with Gaza.”

Not only is this duo showing their solidarity for peace, but even Nigerian Kiwi UFC phenom Israel Adesanya showed his support. Belal Muhammad made history last year by becoming the first fighter of Palestinian origin to win a UFC title. Although he was not born or raised in Palestine, he has always been verbal about the rights of his native land.

After his win, his support for Palestine received support from Israel Adesanya. ‘The Last Stylebender’ posted his support on X saying, “Hi… My name is Israel and I approve this message. 👍🏾,” and this caught Muhammad’s attention  who wrote,Appreciate you champ.”

To add to this support, even Islam Makhachev did not celebrate his win openly after winning against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 294. He opted for a silent gesture to support Palestine. In his statement, he said, “I’m not celebrating the win today, because crazy things are happening around the world. Palestine, we stand up with you. Stop this! Stop this!.” What do you think about this overwhelming support from the UFC world? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
