Is Tony Ferguson just bitter, or does he have a point about Khabib's 'lucky punch'?

Khabib Nurmagomedov recently made a bold statement during an interview about the probable outcome of a fight against Tony Ferguson. ‘The Eagle’ doesn’t see him winning except if he could land a “lucky punch” on him. This statement might have triggered ‘El Cucuy’ who’d share a tweet, highlighting his 12 consecutive wins, which is tied with Nurmagomedov for the most in the lightweight division’s history. This inadvertently saw the 29-0 response to Ferguson, which is something that he rarely does.

Khabib Nurmagomedov claims that he never tried to talk about Tony Ferguson unless it was others who wanted to hear what he had to say about ‘El Cucuy’. That is exactly what he did at the ‘Inspire Me’ podcast because fans were curious since their fight got canceled five times. Moreover, if the TUF 13 champion came across anything online, then ‘The Eagle’ cleared out that it was probably the fans, and not him.

Furthermore, Nurmagomedov also gave the 40-year-old a concerning advice looking at how Ferguson’s last eight fights saw him getting finished and outfought via decisions. He believes maybe it’s time to bid goodbye to MMA and leave the sport to “the young fighters” because, after all, ‘El Cucuy’ is not as young as he once was when he amassed that famous 12-fight winning streak.

Nevertheless, when Khabib Nurmagomedov made that “lucky punch” statement, ‘El Cucuy’ did not hold back either. He would take to Instagram and share a post with a message ripping apart the 29-0 phenom.

Tony Ferguson’s response to Khabib Nurmagomedov

Tony Ferguson launched a stern attack of words on Khabib Nurmagomedov, claiming that he had forgotten about their beef a long time ago. The former interim champion went on to take a jibe at ‘The Eagle’s current physique, where he seems to have gained weight after retirement. But Ferguson’s verbal onslaught didn’t just end there, because he would also label the Hall of Famer as a “coward.”

“’Lucky punch’ now … [I] was going to leave you alone but Ew, Just couldn’t help it,” Ferguson wrote, before addressing Khabib as “Ya phat-phuhk! What a F’n p—–, coward like chicken,” wrote Tony Ferguson. “Keep hiding Khabieber 29-1. ItsOnLikeDonkeyKongB—-h. The edited video of Tony Ferguson’s post was also a hilarious one, where Khabib Nurmagomedov was seen sitting in front of a lot of food, which was another jibe at the Dagestani phenom’s physique. Unfortunately, fans never got to see the fight between these two lightweight titans, which probably wouldn’t have led to the “lucky Punch” comment.
