According to a recent statement by Proximo Spirits, the company behind the whiskey, “Going forward, we do not plan to use Mr. McGregor’s name and likeness in the marketing of the brand.”

But that wasn’t all. Gaming giant IO Interactive has also dropped the fighter, pulling his character, ‘The Disruptor’, from their hit game Hitman.

According to their statement, “We take this matter very seriously and cannot ignore its implications. Consequently, we will begin removing all content featuring Mr. McGregor from our storefronts starting today.”

Once celebrated for his meteoric rise in the UFC and business ventures outside the cage, McGregor now finds himself at the center of a storm. The brands he once elevated have distanced themselves.
