Said Nurmagomedov put up a brilliant performance against Douglas Silva at UFC Vegas 58. After 3 well-fought rounds, Nurmagomedov was declared the winner by the judges. While skill had a major part to play in his victory, an MMA journalist mentioned an interesting stat that revolves around the name of the Russian fighter and some of his compatriots, such as Khabib Nurmagomedov and Magomed Ankalaev.

MMA journalist AB brought up a stat that mentioned fighters with ‘Magomed’ in their name have a combined record of 48-8. AB wrote, “With Said Nurmagomedov scoring a win, fighters with “Magomed” in their name have a 48-8 (.857 win%) record all-time in the UFC.” 

Following his tweet, a fan on Twitter mentioned the losses fighters with ‘Magomed’ in their name suffered. The fan wrote, “The losses: 1 Said Nurm. vs Raoni Barcelos 2 Abubakar Nurm. vs David Zawada 3/4 Magomed Mustafaev vs Riddell & Kevin Lee 5 Rashid Magomedov vs Beneil Dariush 6 Magomed Ankalaev vs Paul Craig 7/8 Magomed Bibulatov vs Bontorin/Moraga”.

Apart from this statistic, Said Nurmagomedov put up a decent performance at UFC Vegas 58. With this victory, the fighter further solidified his position in the UFC bantamweight division.

Said Nurmagomedov wins at UFC Fight Night: Dos Anjos vs Fiziev

At UFC Fight Night: Dos Anjos vs Fiziev, Said Nurmagomedov faced a tough test in MMA veteran Douglas Silva. However, the Russian fighter passed this test with flying results as he gained a victory over his experienced Brazilian opponent.

Nurmagomedov showed a decent and creative striking display over the course of three rounds. The fighter successfully kept Silva guessing and landed punches and spinning kicks. Nurmagomedov left no stone unturned as he attacked Silva from all angles inside the octagon. The Russian kept improving and landed more damage as each round passed by.

After the fight was over, the judges scored the fight (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) for Said Nurmagomedov. The fighter has now improved his MMA record to 15-2, and this victory also marks his third consecutive victory in the UFC.

Following this brilliant performance, Nurmagomedov will look to get back to the octagon soon. When asked about whom he would like to fight next, the 135-pound fighter said, “Anyone from top 10, top 15, you know, it’s time for me to enter the rankings.”
