Raised in the harsh mountains of Dagestan, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov dreamed of building a lasting legacy by cultivating a generation of fighters who would deliver some of the best and most dominating performances in the history of MMA. The legendary coach envisioned a dream where his pupils would become champions and etch their names into the annals of history. That very dream is on the brink of fulfillment at UFC 311 and Khabib Nurmagomedov appears to be extremely excited about it as he hypes up his brothers before their fight.
This month could take a toll on Khabib Nurmagomedov as he has to prepare Islam Makhahev to defend his title against Arman Tsarukyan and Umar Nurmagomedov to fight for the belt against Merab Dvalishvili. Apart from that, there is Usman Nurmagomedov’s fight against Paul Hughes at PFL on Jan 25. Khabib Nurmagomedov is a fearsome force as a fighter, but as a coach, he brings something entirely different. In fact, his intensity led even Islam Makhachev to urge Daniel Cormier to attend their training sessions—just to control ‘The Eagle’.
Regardless, the former lightweight champion is proud that his brothers have come so far in their fighting career, and ahead of the fight, Nurmagomedov has taken to his Instagram handle to share two stories motivating his brothers in arms. In the first story, Khabib Nurmagomedov shared a highlight match of Umar Nurmagomedov and captioned it as “He is coming @Umarnurmagomedov.” In the second story, he shared Islam Makhachev’s fight with Charles Oliveira and captioned it with, “18th January”

He further added, “One is his cousin [Umar Nurmagomedov] and one is Islam, who he’s had been training with since childhood. So for him, it’s going to be a ball of nerves. For me, it’s going to be not that bad at all because I’m used to it now. I can go right through it, not a problem. He’s going to be a wreck that day,”
Well, Khabib Nurmagomedov himself shared his nerves about UFC 311, “Two title fights at once! I think it’s never happened before, or hasn’t happened until now. What a night is waiting for me. I hope I’ll survive.” Regardless, what’s your take on the fight? Who do you think would emerge victorious? State your thoughts in the comments below.
