Gordon Ryan and Jon Jones working together, has been one of the greatest collaborations between two GOATs of their respective sports. ‘King’ Ryan joined Jones’ camp in November 2023, and the two have developed a close bond ever since. The BJJ GOAT’s influence was apparent on the MMA GOAT, as the latter secured a beautiful Osotogari foot trip over Stipe Miocic in the first round. After Jones’ win at UFC 309, Ryan expectedly put out a heartfelt message for the heavyweight champion. However, Gordon Ryan also tipped his hat to the greatest heavyweight of all time, acknowledging his status as a legend.
“I can’t take credit for any part of Jon’s career, but I am very thankful to be a small part of such an amazing legacy. Thank you for choosing me to help you, and thank you for your friendship. Enjoy this time off that you deserve, and don’t let anyone tell you what to do, said Ryan in his Instagram post. While showering praise on his good friend, Gordon Ryan didn’t forget the former heavyweight champion.
“Being a legend and first responder, I think we were all a little sad to see Stipe Miocic lose and retire, but that’s the game. Thank you, legend, for an amazing career. I’ve always been a fan, and I can’t wait to see you at your HOF induction.”, wrote Gordon Ryan in tribute to the now-retired former heavyweight champion.

After the fight, at the post-fight press conference, Jon Jones doubled down on his disdain for Tom Aspinall, “He’s annoying to me. He’s annoying to me and that’s my own personal—he annoys me. I get it, you guys find it entertaining, but I find him annoying. I just don’t like him and at the end of the day, if I give him the opportunity to fight me, I want to be so compensated-I want to say it, I want that ‘f*ck you’ money, honestly. That’s just what it is,” said Jon Jones.
