UFC welterweight Kevin Lee has found himself in some hot water after being handed out a 6-month suspension by NSAC. ‘The Motown Phenom’ has had his license revoked in the state of Nevada after testing positive for a banned substance.
The substance in question is Adderall, an amphetamine used to treat ADHD. Chiefly, the positive test came back after his defeat to Daniel Rodriguez, a fight he took on short notice after Sean Brady withdrew from their scheduled bout.

“It wouldn’t have been an issue, but I got a little arrogant in it. I thought that I would be fine without it, and that it just would get out of my system much faster. But I think not cutting as much weight – I should have applied for the TUE.”
“I’m still kind of kicking myself in the ass over it because it’s a legit prescription, it’s a legit diagnosis and I think I just went about it in an unprofessional way to get that done.” [h/t MMA Fighting]

Lee also needs to be concerned about getting back to winning ways once he returns in early 2022. He is 4-1 in his last five fights and could be on his way out of the company with another setback in the cage. While his wins have come to very elite fighters, Lee will need to tighten things up in order to reach the apex once more.
