At UFC 299, ‘Venom’ will face the highly acclaimed UFC welterweight Kevin Holland. The announcement was made recently, and rumors about Page’s arrival in the UFC have already been making rounds for a long time. In this instance, the 36-year-old discussed how these rumors initially started.

Michael ‘Venom’ Page addresses the Dana White leak

UFC and its CEO Dana White always aim to keep fight developments confidential. But sometimes, slip-ups and leaks lead to important information getting out. This is exactly what happened in the case of Michael ‘Venom’ Page.

A few weeks ago, fans saw ‘Michael Page vs Kevin Holland’ mentioned on Dana White’s matchmaking board in his office. This still was leaked from one of White’s social media videos. Recently, ‘Venom’ addressed this leak and talked about how it impacted him.

“So obviously there was that thing with Dana White. He walked in the podcast and somebody screenshotted the thing in the background. Everyone thought I was fighting Kevin Holland.” Further, the former Bellator fighter also revealed how this incident led to his family members questioning him.

“I got it from everyone, like all of my people were like ‘you just don’t want to tell me’. Family was hitting me up. I’m like, ‘bro, you know me! I would have let it be known’.” Now that the fight is finalized, fans are excited to witness Page’s debut in the UFC.

Michael ‘Venom’ Page was unsure about making a PFL appearance

A few weeks ago, before his UFC arrival was finalized, fans were shocked to see ‘Venom’ at a PFL event in Dublin, Ireland. Moreover, the MMA star even made a brief appearance inside the cage, and engaged in a face off with Cedric Doumbe. This led many to believe that he had instead signed with the PFL.

However, rumors turned out to be just rumors, as the MMA star shook hands with the Dana White-led promotion. Recently, he revealed how he was unsure about entering the PFL cage, because of his ongoing negotiations with the UFC.

“Then obviously we were there together in PFL in Ireland. I was like ‘oh, should I even go (in the cage). I was like, ‘well I’m not signed to anybody’,” he said.
