Holland has tons of bouts under his belt, 36 to be specific. However, out of those 35 bouts, he has been defeated 11 times. In the UFC, he has lost eight times. His first UFC defeat sadly came on his UFC debut against Thiago Santos back in 2018. However, he did not succumb to his defeat and made a comeback and went on a three-fight winning streak.
However, this winning streak came to an end in 2019 against Brendan Allen after being defeated by a submission choke. Thereafter, he again went on a stint of wins but got handed his third UFC defeat against Derek Brunson in 2021 and suffered another loss against Marvin Vettori—both via decisions.
Despite being on a losing streak, he rose from it and got back in the win column but soon got another series of defeats against Khamzat Chimaev and Stephen Thompson. Both of these defeats came in a matter of months and both of them were brutal stoppages. ‘Trailblazer’ also lost Jack Della Maddalena last year, just via a split decision. Lastly, in his most recent defeat, Holland welcomed Michael ‘Venom’ Page into the UFC but was comprehensively outfought by the British at UFC 299, losing via a unanimous decision.
The aforementioned defeats are against formidable opponents and there is no shame in losing to them. However, it bears mention that there are a few fights and defeats he was involved in outside the UFC. Let’s take a closer look at them.
Has Kevin Holland lost an MMA fight outside the UFC?
Outside the UFC, he has lost three times. Before fighting under the UFC banner, he was competing for various other promotions trying to make a name for himself. However, even in those promotions, the welterweight fighter was defeated. His first professional MMA defeat came back in 2015 against Ramil Mustapaev.
Thereafter, his second defeat came against right after his first defeat against Rafael Lovato Jr. in 2015 itself. Lastly, his third defeat and only other defeat outside the UFC came against Curtis Millender in 2017.
