The women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg faced Sinead Kavanagh in the main event of Bellator 271. She successfully defended her gold strap by dropping the Irish female fighter in just 1:32 minutes of the first round.
This victory marked Cyborg’s third title defense at Bellator. Interestingly, the two-time PFL champion and Olympic gold medalist Kayla Harrison was present at the event.
Harrison seemed impressed by Cyborg’s dominant win. She said, “My first impression was she’s not as big as I thought she was gonna be. But all joking aside, obviously, Cyborg is a trailblazer in the sport. She’s a pioneer. She’s a trailblazer. The only problem with that is I’m on this trail now. But it was great to watch her live. On being asked about a possible fight with the Bellator featherweight champion, Harrison replied by saying, “Listen, she’s one of the greatest of all time. I don’t care which way you slice it. You can’t deny her greatness, and I’ve made it no secret that I wanna go down as the greatest. So, in order to do that, you’ve got to beat the greatest, and she’s one of those people.

She added, “So, for me, the greatest compliment I can give to Cris Cyborg is that I want to fight her. That’s the greatest honor I can say, is that I wanna share the cage with you for 25 hard minutes… I would be over the moon to have an opportunity to fight her.”

The former UFC champion in Cris Cyborg is considered one of the best female fighters in combat sports. She has an amazing professional career of 25- 2, with twenty knockout wins under her name.
After departing from UFC, Cyborg has been dominating the division in Bellator. She is currently 4-0 in the promotion. Following her recent win at Bellator 271. She expressed her desire to fight the two-time PFL champion Kayla Harrison in the post-fight press conference.
