There is no doubt that Mike Tyson is one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time. The former UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, recently expressed his huge respect for ‘Iron Mike’. Moreover, the current middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, liked Usman’s comment about ‘Iron Mike’.

Tyson started his professional boxing career in 1985 and competed till 2005. He has made history by achieving several glorious victories. ‘Kid Dynamite’ became the undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990. After he began his professional boxing career, he was able to achieve a 19-fight winning streak via knockout, and 12 out of the 19 victories he achieved were in the very first round.

He earned his first boxing belt when he was just 20 years old. ‘Iron Mike’ has indeed inspired many young minds with his passion and dominant fighting style. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ wanted to communicate the same with Tyson.

Israel Adesanya and fans react to Kamaru Usman’s words about Mike Tyson

Kamaru Usman was talking with Mike Tyson in his show “Hotboxin with Mike Tyson.’ Tyson shared a brief clip of the show on his Instagram account, where Usman was talking about the legacy of Tyson.

‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ said, “There’s a few people I think on planet Earth that I think we’re just blessed to see. You know there’s just those iconic figures and you represent that for us… Everybody walks around they say ‘Oh yeah, you’re great, you’re great,’ and in your head, you might feel a different way but you know when we truly say that we mean that because of what you represent for us and what you may not know,”

He further added, “You being you helps someone overcome at some point in their life. So that’s why so many people might walk up and say that because it’s true. What you represent and you are… You’re the most recognizable face on the planet because I think it’s kids that never watch your fight come out ‘Mike Tyson’,The UFC middleweight champion loved Usman’s comment and liked the video that Tyson posted. It’s not just Adesanya; fans were also quick to react to Usman’s inspiring words.

What forced ‘Iron Mike’ to retire?

Mike Tyson had his last boxing match in 2005. His last victory inside the boxing ring was in 2003. He won the match via knockout within 49 seconds into the first round. Following this victory, Tyson came back to the ring and lost matches in 2004 and 2005.
