Kamaru Usman is on the lookout to get in the ring with Mexico’s ‘Cinnamon’ Canelo Alvarez. Recently, ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’s manager Ali Abdelaziz has come out with a request to UFC President Dana White. He wants Dana White to be the promoter of this welterweight bout.
Meanwhile, Alvarez is currently preparing to fight Dmitry Bivol on May 7. Kamaru Usman’s manager took a dig not only at Alvarez but on the whole boxing community. He feels it scares boxers to fight in the street and shouldn’t call themselves ‘fighters’.

“He [Kamaru Usman] called out this, this coward [Alvarez]. Canelo if you want the smoke, Kamaru give him the smoke.”. “Dana white is the greater promoter of all the time. If this fight happen Dana white is the promoter,” he said.
Canelo Alvarez responds to Kamaru Usman’s proposal
Just like his contemporaries, Kamaru Usman also wants to make the switch from the octagon to a boxing ring. Looks like the UFC Welterweight Champion is adamant about facing Alvarez. “I’ve already said the name that interests me. Canelo. That’s what interests me.” he told TMZ.
Meanwhile, Saul Canelo Alvarez is currently preparing to fight Dmitry Bivol on May 7. When he was asked about fighting ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’, he said it will be ‘Payday’. And he doesn’t want to say no.

Similarly, Kamaru Usman has also said that both the fighters can have a hefty paycheck if this fight happens. It is interesting that both of these fighters know that such a fight will cause a massive crowd pull. Previously, fighters like Conor McGregor, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva also stepped into the boxing ring.
Kamaru Usman to face Leon Edwards in the International Fight week
In the interview, Abdelaziz also confirmed that Kamaru Usman will defend his title against British-Jamaican Leon Edwards. The fight might happen in July during the International fight week. Abdelaziz has said that Dana White and Senior Vice President of Talent Relations, Sean Shelby, will finalize the date and venue of this contest.
