It would be an understatement to say that Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington don’t like each other. Both men have fought twice and both the fights have been epic. The first fight between the two took place at UFC 245, and both men literally were looking to destroy each other. After very competitive four rounds, Usman stopped him in the fifth.

The second fight didn’t disappoint as well. However, this time the fight went the distance with Usman winning via a unanimous decision. After sharing 10 brutal rounds in the octagon, even if there is hate, there also has to be some level of respect. When the 25 minutes were over at UFC 268, both men were seen embracing each other. However, ‘Chaos’ denies it.

Kamaru Usman, though, seems to genuinely respect his long-time rival, and took to Twitter to show his admiration for him. He posted three photos from the previous fight and wrote, “Greatful for all challenges.”

What’s next for Colby Covington?

Covington, after losing to Usman, is targeting a fight against a former friend turned rival. During the UFC 268 post-fight press conference, ‘Chaos’ called out Jorge Masvidal and asked him to pull out of the Leon Edwards fight. They were booked to fight at UFC 269, but call it Covington’s good luck, ‘Gamebred‘ got injured and pulled out of the fight.

He is now eyeing a fight with him and even called him a fragile little b**ch. With Masvidal recovering from the injury and Covington recovering after his fight against Usman, a fight between the two can happen soon. Both men have shown interest in coaching in a season of The Ultimate Fighter. The new season is just around the corner, and the coaches haven’t been announced yet. With the animosity between the two, it would make for an interesting buildup to the fight, and get the fans excited.

How things got heated between the two is not yet clear. Both men share a different story and put the blame on each other. Covington blames it on jealousy. And according to Masvidal, Covington was ripping off their coach and didn’t pay, which led to the beef.

A fight between the two will get everyone talking, and can lead to the winner fighting for the belt again.
