UFC press conferences are iconic especially because of the brawls that break out sometimes. There have been incidents with fighters but not all of them made iconic cuts. However, they have hardly been dangerous fights like the one that happened between Kai Kara-France and Manel Kape. It even included Israel Adesanya who is a teammate of Kara-France’s.

Now that Kara-France and ‘Izzy’ are about to share the stage for the UFC 305 presser, let’s revisit this previous beef. What happened between the UFC flyweight stars? Why did it escalate so much that Adesanya had to be involved?

Things got pretty heated up during the lead-up to UFC 293 when Manel Kape threw a water bottle towards Kai Kara-France in a fit of rage. He threw the bottle toward the fighter in the audience, and then he also started arguing with ‘Izzy’ who was onstage. Now the thing is, Kape and Kara-France have already had an ongoing beef, which started from the fact that the two flyweights were booked to compete on the UFC 293 card. However, ‘Don’t Blink’ later posted on social media that he was withdrawing from the fight because he suffered from a concussion during training.

He said, So unfortunately, I’ve had to withdraw from my next fight in Sydney, Australia, UFC 293. I suffered a concussion over the weekend in training. I’ve been speaking to my coaches, my team, and my family, and they all think it’s the right decision to put my health first I’m gutted that I won’t be a part of this card.”

After that Manel Kape was pitted against Felipe dos Santos for the UFC 293 card. Even though Kara-France could not participate in the fight, he was still present in the audience during the pre-fight press conference. Now, ‘Starboy’ was pretty angry at the withdrawal and was hurling insults towards him during the press conference.

The RIZIN veteran turned his attention to the former UFC middleweight, champion while the security came up on stage to stop both the fighters from having a physical brawl.

Adesanya did not stay silent and said, “Look at this little midget trying to f*** with me, I’ll f****** bury you.” We even have Tai Tuivasa’s account of the whole brawl. ‘Bam Bam’ was sitting peacefully between the two fighters, but after the fight escalated, he could not stay silent and had to speak up. While the fight eventually subsided, it became the highlight of the press conference. The Australian fighter is very outspoken and energetic, so he mentioned it in his X post as well.
