Justin Gaethje is undoubtedly one of the most entertaining fighters in the UFC today. He has a fan-friendly fighting style, incredible power, and an iron chin. Gaethje’s rise in the UFC has been nothing short of impressive, as he has quickly become one of the top lightweights in the world.

Unfortunately, Gaethje suffered a setback in his last fight against Charles Oliveria at UFC 274. Oliveria was able to submit the American with a rear-naked choke in the second round, ending Gaethje’s quest for the lightweight title. Nevertheless, it was a disappointing result for the former interim Lightweight champion, who had looked great in his previous fight against Michael Chandler.

 Gaethje couldn’t control his emotions

UFC 274 had an exciting lineup. Justin Gaethje faced Charles Oliveria in the main event for the lightweight title. In the co-main event, Rose Namajunas was facing Carla Esparza for the women’s strawweight title. Namajunas had just lost her strawweight title via split decision, and Gaethje was emotional after watching her fight.

Gaethje admitted that the emotions got to him and that he didn’t recognize himself in the cage that night. He felt like he let his emotions overcome his ability to be perfect and that he was far from perfect in his fight against Oliveria. It was a candid admission from Gaethje, who is known for his toughness and grit inside the octagon.
