The UFC has come a very long way. There was once a time when the promotion and the sport had such a bad reputation that it was banned in many states and was thought of as a violent and savage bloodsport. This is in sharp contrast to where MMA and UFC are in 2025, when the newly-appointed Director of the FBI, Kash Patel, reportedly suggested in a meeting that the Bureau enlist the help of UFC fighters to train its officers.
And while there may be a vigorous debate about the feasibility and effectiveness of this idea among the public, UFC superstar Justin Gaethje is totally on board. Speaking to TMZ Sports, ‘The Highlight’ volunteered his services- and not just for the FBI, but law enforcement in general.
“I think he should use us to, uh, I don’t know. I think there’s much more skilled people, but I got no kids, no wife. So if he needs someone to go out there and serve some justice, you know, I would love to be part of that team… Any part of that, you know,” the former BMF champ said.

In fact, Justin Gaethje is positively exuberant at the prospect of working with law enforcement, and sees it as his patriotic duty to help them in any way he can.

“I love representing this country, I can’t wait to fly this flag, you know, walk into the octagon. It’s been a while since I’ve been proud to be an American and we’re back there. So I’m excited to represent this country. And yeah, anytime anybody at that position needs my help I’m more than willing,” he added in the interview with TMZ Sports. However, the UFC star would be hoping that he doesn’t get that call until at least this weekend.

Why UFC 313 this weekend is so important for Justin Gaethje
Justin Gaethje will rematch Rafael Fiziev at UFC 313 on March 8. And this fight is one of the most important of his career, and may determine the course of the rest of his career. A win would almost definitely earn him a title shot. At least that is what reigning champ Islam Makhachev wants.

“I like this idea because I haven’t fought Justin yet… I’ve already fought [Charles Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan], and preparing for the same opponent is not such a big motivation. But if Gaethje shows himself well in the next fight, we can meet,” the Dagestani told Russian MMA outlet ‘Ushtayaka’ in a recent interview.
What’s your perspective on:
Should UFC fighters like Gaethje be training FBI agents, or is this a step too far?
Have an interesting take?
Oliveira and Tsarukyan, of course, are ahead of Gaethje in the title picture. But since Makhachev has always said he wants to fight fresh faces, and Gaethje is an absolute legend– a first-ballot Hall of Famer, it is no wonder the Dagestani wants ‘The Highlight’ on his resume. What do you think about Justin Gaethje’s take on working with law enforcement?
