Khamzat Chimaev went through a tough time dealing with his medical ailments. A couple weeks after pulling out of his scheduled fight against Robert Whittaker at UFC Saudi Arabia, the Emirati star seems to be back in training, but guess what? The fans don’t seem too thrilled about his return, given that recently; he hasn’t been active at all.
‘Borz’ started his UFC career in a dominant fashion; earning three bonuses in a span of two months. However, since failing to make weight for the Nate Diaz fight back in 2022, things have taken a turn for the worse for Khamzat Chimaev. He’s fought only once in the last 20 months. Following his win over Kamaru Usman at UFC 294, he was well on his way to a probable title shot, but missing the fight against Robert Whittaker because of health ailments might have spoiled those plans.
Nevertheless, it seems like Khamzat Chimaev is still determined to get his UFC career back on track as a video of him training has surfaced online. ‘Borz’ was seen lifting a rock and shadowboxing in what looked like a forest, along with other fighters from his team. Chimaev looked great and it did not seem like he was suffering from food poisoning anymore.

Even though Khamzat Chimaev was training in full swing, the fans were a bit skeptical about his attempts to stay healthy and active. They won’t stop, but keep mentioning his recent struggles, suggesting he takes more care of his immune system. Moreover, some fans even urged him to take some rest instead of training because it has only been a few days since he claimed to have been struggling with health issues. Echoing the same sentiment, a fan wrote, “Tell him to go indoors so he doesn’t get sick again.”
Meanwhile, a handful of social media users took a dig at the fighter saying, “Aaand hes sick with a cold again,” while another person suggested a match-up for the Sphere that might reap good profits for the UFC, “Khamzat vs his immune system at the sphere book it.”
Some fans were concerned that Khamzat Chimaev returning to training so early could end up making him even more sick, rendering him unsure of a proper return date. A fan added, “That one exercise just put him in bed for 2 days.” However, they were not afraid to mention how they’ve observed things have been and pointed out his struggles with making weight and competing inside, which has become a rarity since late 2022, “Bro is allergic to making weight and fighting.”

Having been out for so long, not many fighters can keep the fans interested, like Jon Jones and Conor McGregor. As such, it seems like Khamzat Chimaev’s stocks among the fans may be decreasing gradually because they’re starting to get off his bandwagon as a UFC viewer reckoned, “Dude is always training just never fighting, sh*ts getting boring now.”
