Conor McGregor is back to his old form again. The Irishman is known for his effective and verbose trash-talk that helps him get under his foes’ skins.  Of course, the high (or low, depending upon how you look at it) point of his trash-talk was when he insulted Khabib Nurmagomedov’s family, father, coach, country, and religion.

Most MMA fans agreed this crossed a line, while some felt this was a tactic, albeit an unsavory one, to hype the fight and throw ‘The Eagle’ off his game. And now the Irishman has taken to Twitter to insult his upcoming opponent ‘Iron’ Michael Chandler using an unexpected method- puns and comparing him to a piece of exercise equipment. Interestingly, the Irishman also seemingly spoiled the finale of TUF, which would have ticked off Dana White when he predicted Brad Katona will be “double champ” on his Instagram Story.

McGregor tweeted at Chandler and proclaimed that he would crush Chandler’s face and compared him to a bosu ball. “I’ve industrial steel in my leg now, and I’ve long natural steel in the shoulders and elbows and knuckles of the fist. I’m over 3/4 steel. And steel crushes iron. Crushes the little bones in iron’s face. Out with the iron you little bosu ball motivational speakin handbag,” he tweeted.

He played on the American’s moniker ‘Iron’ to mock him. The Dubliner pointed out that he had a steel rod put in his broken leg and that his shoulders, elbows, and knuckles are made of ‘natural steel’. He claimed that since steel was stronger than iron, he would crush Chandler in their fight.

When will Chandler vs. McGregor happen?

‘Notorious’ has been out of the octagon for two years. He broke his leg in a loss against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021 and has been healing ever since. Although an official date is yet to be announced, the Irishman publicly announced that he will be fighting Chandler in December this year.

But McGregor has yet to enter the USADA testing pool yet. All fighters are required to join the USADA testing pool at least six months in advance before they can fight in the UFC. The UFC may exempt the former champion from the six-month rule. However, there has been no official word from the UFC on this, either. Do you think the UFC should exempt McGregor from the six-month rule? Or do you think that would be unfair for Chandler? Tell us in the comments section below.
