The bout between him and Aljamain Sterling took place on August 19th at Boston’s TD Garden. Snoop Dogg praises Sean O’Malley

The bout between O’Malley and Sterling was a highly entertaining affair. In the opening round, many believed that ‘Funk Master’ would win the fight, as he used some impressive combinations of high and low kicks. While O’Malley went for perfect strikes and occasionally some shallow moves. The game totally changed in the second round as ‘Suga’ knocked out Sterling within 51 seconds. After O’Malley became the bantamweight king, Snoop Dogg took to Instagram to share a video of ‘Suga’ fighting in the Dana White Contender Series. 

 

Along with the video he wrote, “I knew he was a dogg the first time I seen him swing let the suga show begin. @sugasean @danawhite.” However, he didn’t stop praising O’Malley there. Recently, the new bantamweight champion posted a video of him with the belt on Instagram. In the video, O’Malley kept on saying, “You are the man,” by looking at him in the mirror. When Snoop Dogg came across the video, he commented, “O.Malley, O.Malley, the Suga show starts now. Great work, Nefew.” From the words of the rapper, it is clear that he holds O’Malley in high regard.

‘Suga’ chose his next opponent

 Soon after the bout against Sterling ended, O’Malley didn’t waste much time and went to call out his next opponent. O’Malley’s only loss in his entire fighting career was against Marlon Vera. ‘Suga’ and ‘Chito’ locked horns at UFC 252 back in August 2020. The 28-year-old lost the bout in the very first round via TKO.

Now, he believes that it’s the right time to take revenge. Hence, O’Malley called out ‘Chito’ for his first title defense. Surprisingly, Vera was also a part of UFC 292, where he fought against Pedro Munhoz. After the three-round bout, he won the fight via unanimous decision.
