Dana White and the UFC admin have been bashed multiple times for the way they treat their fighters. The MMA community raised doubts about the payment structure of the fighters after a group of hundreds of current and former fighters raised an anti-trust lawsuit against the company. However, as per White, the fighters get what they deserve.

The UFC CEO believes that fighters earn a large chunk of money during their time in UFC and to back his statement the CEO gave the example of the ‘Journeyman’ Jim Miller. So why did White suddenly take Miller’s career as an example? Let us find out.

Jim Miller has been with the UFC for a long time now. The fighter started his career in the world of UFC back in 2008 and is still going strong. ‘A-10’s career has seen its ups and downs but it has never seen a stop. Miller holds the record for most fights (46) as well as the most wins (26) in UFC history. However, Miller has never won any championship.

While “A-10” may not have reached his previous peak, UFC CEO Dana White states that the financial status of “A-10” remains robust.”We got a guy right now who’s 40 years old and he’s on this hot streak, man. His name’s Jim Miller. He’s been around forever. He’s been around since like we bought the company and he’s still fighting,” said White on Vivek Ramaswamy’s podcast

He further added, “He’s gonna fight on UFC 300 and this is a guy who’s been — I guess you could call him a journeyman in boxing [terms], right? If you ask most people, they wouldn’t know who Jim Miller is, and the guy’s made millions of dollars.”

Additionally, down in the conversation, White explained how much money one can expect to make if they stay with the promotion for a longer period.

As per Dana White, the existence of Jim Miller in the promotion should be the counter for everyone who thinks that the UFC does not pay its fighters. The UFC CEO down in the conversation explained that Miller’s career has yet to see any championship but still, this has not stopped him from getting rich.

“He’s never made it to that level [of UFC champion]. Guys that would be considered journeymen in boxing never make that kind of money ever. It’s because we focus on building great fights with great fighters. If you can stay here for a certain amount of time, you make really good money. It supports your family, you can pay your house off. You’re not gonna have $30-40 million, but you’ll have $6, $7, $8 million, and most people wouldn’t even know who he was,” voiced Dana White on the Truth Podcast.
