Did the judges rob Jose Aldo, or was Mario Bautista's win truly deserved?

At Salt, Lake City Utah, Jose Aldo faced a crushing defeat at the hands of Mario B͏a͏ut͏ista, however, it was rather highly debatable. The official decision gave an edge to the American as he won the bout by way of a split decision (2͏9-͏͏28, 28-͏͏29͏, 29-͏28). Despite the victory, the MMA community believes that Bautista doesn’t deserve this victory. It was such a controversial victory that even the former dual-weight, Conor McGregor as well as the UFC CEO Dana White had to come forward to ca͏͏l͏l͏s fo͏r ͏͏͏s͏͏erious ch͏anges in M͏M͏A͏͏͏ rul͏es. Well, after criticism from the entire MMA world, B͏a͏ut͏ista has come forward to answer it.

Witnessing injustice against his former opponent, Conor McGregor took to his X handle to call out the MMA rulebooks to make a needed change for the fighters- “As referee, if the fighters go to the same place of [stall] over and over I would be putting the position on a clock. And each time they end back there the clock goes shorter.30-second clock. 20 second clock, 10 second, 8 second, 6 second etc etc etc Separate, seperate, separate. No point prolonging these positions as if they haven’t taken place exactly the same way prior and nothing has taken place but stawling. My opinion.”

Well, ‘Mystic Mac’ was not the only fighter who called the official decision nonsense, even UFC CEO Dana White was fed up with the decision, “I thought the judging was atrocious tonight. I will just leave it at that. It was atrocious,” said White. Well, after being bombarded by the entire MMA community for ‘Robbery’, Mario B͏a͏ut͏ista has come forward to put the entire blame on Jose Aldo for his bad footwork.

At the press conference, B͏a͏ut͏ista said, “I got cut in the second round. I was hit with something pretty good. He has a good takedown defense, but he cannot get off the stage. That’s not my fault, you know. If that was, I would have circled the cage. So, whatever the crowd thinks, everyone thinks that’s on him. He was not getting off the fence. I’m not letting him get off the fence. I have tried taking him down; he is good right there. Like you said, that’s what Merab did, and now he is the champ.”

At the end of the conversation, Mario B͏a͏ut͏ista emphasized that he did enough for him to clinch the victory, “I thought I did enough.”  B͏a͏ut͏ista never really got any bonuses for his performance but he will have an elevated rank at the bantamweight rankings. Well, it appears that after the UFC 307 fiasco, McGregor might have a new beef.

Have an interesting take?

Witnessing his once fierce opponent lose like this has Conor McGregor fired up, as he hasn’t stopped calling out the judges after Jose Aldo’s loss. After calling Sham on the victory, the former dual-weight champion took to his X to add a series of X posts calling out the judges, who gave the victory scoring to B͏a͏ut͏ista and now Aldo. Well, according to ‘Mystic Mac’, the judging was just an epic, “Dirt decision.

He further added, “Bull sh*t decision. He [Bautista] has just said he was shooting in just to hold him against the fence. That’s not good enough. Referees need to step in here. This sport is the fans’ sport. Remember this and act accordingly referees.” Conor McGregor even accused the judges of not even looking at the fights, “Rogan said the judges weren’t even looking. That was Jose’s story. Bulls–t decision. He has just said he was shooting in just to hold him against the fence. That’s not good enough. Referees need to step in here. This sport is the fan’s sport.”
